Star Micronics and Shopwave demonstrate unique TSP143IIIU printer with Shopwave’s iPad Point of Sale application at Restaurant Tech Live 2017

High Wycombe, UK, 25 September 2017: International POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics announces today that it will be joined by leading software provider Shopwave on Stand 5151 at Restaurant Tech Live 2017 (26 – 27 September, ExCeL, London). Shopwave empowers retailers to gain a deeper understanding of their day-to-day business across multiple stores by providing enterprise grade, real-time analytics through an easy to use iPad Point of Sale application.

The solution facilitates seamless retailer integration with the latest technologies including mobile payments, queue busting tools, and live inventory order management. The Shopwave Stock / Inventory Management feature enables business owners to accurately manage accounts for product availability. Perpetual reconciliation and supplier management ensures that business operations are running efficiently at all times. Furthermore, the entire Shopwave Stock / Inventory Management suite is available via the online dashboard from any device. Users are able to log in to the dashboard on multiple devices and browsers to see up to date information about store performance and download reports.

Visitors to the stand will be able to experience a live demonstration of Star’s latest USB printer – TSP143IIIU. This printer can communicate and charge simultaneously and directly with an iPad, iPod or iPhone using the Apple-supplied lightning cable for reliable USB communication as opposed to previous iOS wireless only technologies. As a result, the usual Bluetooth or WiFi / wired LAN set-up issues around pairing, network infrastructure, connectivity, etc., are eliminated from a hardware perspective. No other stand-alone POS printer can achieve this today.

Simplicity itself, the iPad / iPod / iPhone can talk directly to the printer just as a USB printer talks to a traditional terminal, providing retailers with the reliability required in high volume transactions or environments where wireless communication is difficult. This unique printer will now allow multisite operators to make blanket decisions across their estates by successfully combining the flexibility of tablet POS with the reliability of cabled POS terminals. Furthermore, the TSP143IIIU offers a more cost-effective alternative to a Bluetooth or WiFi printer.

“We are pleased to have Shopwave on our stand at Restaurant Tech Live 2017 demonstrating its software with Star’s unique TSP143IIIU printer as well as Star’s combined Bluetooth printer and cash drawer solution mPOP™”, states Annette Tarlton, Marketing Director, Star Micronics EMEA. “Having been one of the first software providers to integrate the TSP143IIIU, Shopwave allows retailers of all sizes to benefit from the very latest tablet POS technology in the knowledge that connectivity will be maintained at all times.”
