High Wycombe, UK, 20 September 2017 – International POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics announces that it has partnered with Comtrex Systems to provide Rosa’s Thai Café in London with a comprehensive POS solution.
With a passion for authentic Thai food and seasonal local ingredients, Rosa’s Thai has put sustainability at the heart of everything they do and, in recent years, has grown to operate ten restaurants across London each with their own character and offering the very best in Thai cuisine.
Combining modern London with modern Bangkok, Rosa’s Thai has grown from a humble beginning of a street stall on Brick Lane’s Sunday market in the East End of London, which quickly became the locals’ favourite. In 2013, the company opened a restaurant in the historic Carnaby Street and over the following year received great reviews from The Times and Evening Standard. Rosa’s Thai also received a mention in Time Out magazine as a mini-group that is ‘fast, friendly and enticing’! During the last four years, Rosa’s Thai has opened in Angel, Victoria, Chelsea, Brixton, West Hampstead and Seven Dials, moving into North, West and South London for the first time.
When it came to selecting a POS system, Rosa’s Thai was looking for a cost-effective solution for receipting and printing kitchen orders. With a software solution from Comtrex Systems and hardware from Star Micronics, Rosa’s Thai benefits from a POS system that ideally meets its requirements. Using a Windows based system, Rosa’s Thai has been successfully using Star’s TSP143II ECO printer for receipting and SP742 LAN for printing kitchen orders. With the TSP143II ECO, the restaurant additionally benefits from a range of paper and power saving tools that enhance the cost-saving features of this printer.
Moving forward, at its new sites, the restaurant will upgrade to Star’s latest USB printer in the TSP100 series, renowned for its unique range of free-of-charge futurePRNT™ software tools. The TSP143IIIU benefits from a higher print speed of 250mm/second and operates with either a traditional POS terminal or a tablet POS system. Representing the very latest in POS printing technology, the TSP143IIIU is unique in that it is the only receipt printer today to communicate and charge simultaneously and directly with an iPad, iPod or iPhone, using the Apple supplied lightning cable for reliable USB communication.
