What is the difference between SM-S230i, SM-T300i, and SM-T400i?

The main differences are size, ruggedness, and intended use: SM-S230i is the smallest and lightest, designed for comfortable all-shift carrying in retail and hospitality. SM-T300i is rugged and water-resistant, designed for field service and outdoor use where durability matters more than compactness. SM-T400i is the widest format, with both transmissive and reflective sensors enabling label printing, suited to government, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and logistics applications that need a larger printable area.

Battery Life & Durability

How long does the battery last on Star's mobile printers?

Battery life varies by model and usage pattern: SM-S230i offers around 13 hours of battery life for extended retail and hospitality shifts. SM-T400i offers around 35 hours of battery life when printing at five-minute intervals, suited to long field service or delivery shifts. Actual battery life depends on print frequency, print length, and environmental conditions.

Are Star mobile printers rugged or water-resistant?

Some models are specifically built for rugged use: SM-T300i and SM-T400i are designed with rubberised, durable construction. What connectivity options do Star's mobile printers support?

SM-T300i and SM-T400i support Bluetooth and wired serial (RS-232) connectivity. Do Star mobile printers work with both iOS and Android?

Yes. Star's mobile printers support iOS, Android, and Windows devices, and use auto-detection Bluetooth pairing so staff can switch between device types without manual reconfiguration.

Can I print from a web-based application on a mobile device?

Yes, on supported models. Star's WebPRNT Browser configuration allows a mobile printer to print receipts or data directly from a browser-based application running on a paired mobile device, without a native app integration.
