Recently, McLernons had a requirement to source hardware for scanning thousands of prescriptions processed daily in 400 pharmacies across Northern Ireland. The rollout amounted to over 1000 units. The company required a scanner that would seamlessly integrate into its dispensing software solution whilst offering a very high level of reliability, given its intended use.

There is always a concern when deploying new hardware for business-critical use, but the initial discussions and support from Star helped alleviate these. The ease of configuration was a big positive and the scanners proved to be very efficient and responsive in comparison to other products.”

The BSD-40U is a high quality 1D / 2D desktop barcode scanner, with exceptional motion tolerance and broad field of view. The latter has allowed the company to easily install high volume custom setups.
