In addition to a wide range of POS and label printers, Star offers user-replaceable printer components, ink ribbons, paper, and label rolls that ensure efficient printer operation, extend the life of the print head, allow for less frequent paper changes thanks to longer media lengths, and prevent jams. Star paper and label rolls are also fully tested and help protect the printer warranty.

Eco-friendly paper and labels

Star is committed to investing in research and testing of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions for paper and labelling, supported by new technologies that reduce waste and by the use of chemical-free paper that can be fully recycled.

Star’s EMEA division also offers a range of linerless label rolls, both repositionable and permanent, as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional silicone-backed labels.

  • Linerless labels provide more labels per roll, as there is no backing, which alone can account for up to 40% of traditional label rolls

  • Permanent linerless labels have a strong adhesive, ideal for applications requiring long-lasting labels

  • Repositionable linerless labels stick to almost any surface and are easy to remove and reapply without leaving residue

The key factor for long-term print quality is the quality of the consumables used. Star dedicates effort and commitment to the development and testing of ribbons and paper, in order to refine materials that can produce high-quality prints and protect the most valuable part of the printer, namely the print head.

Using cheaper compatible ribbons and low-quality paper can result in rougher materials that may damage the print head and the built-in cutter, thereby reducing the printer’s operational lifespan. To keep Star printers in optimal condition, you should always use media that complies with Star’s recommended specifications.

After investing in the right hardware, it would be a false economy to use consumables that are not suited to the components of the printer you have purchased.

Replacement cutter and platen for mC-Label3 and mC-Label2 printers

The cutter and platen for Star mC-Label3 and mC-Label2 label printers should be cleaned periodically and replaced when indicated. For more information, refer to the online manuals for the mC-Label3 and mC-Label2 models. Product codes for replacement cutters and platens are listed below and can be ordered through Star retailers.
